Some women light a pair of candles: the first to remind us to "remember" the sabbath and the second to remind us to honor and "keep" it. Others may light a single candle. In this case there will be one candle for each member of the family, symbolizing the angel of God that accompanies each individual throughout the Sabbath.

Sabbath candlesticks can be found in many variations. They are designed from various materials and in numerous styles. When purchasing the candlesticks, I recommend choosing those of high quality. They will serve you for many years to come, maybe even be passed on to your children. They will also serve as a reflection of your home.
