Find out what's what!
I divided the kippot into four groups, each group has its individual look and will be associated in some cases with a certain religious stream.
Crocheted kippah
This type of kippah can come in either a single solid color or with a design. It can be composed of any color. In some circles, wearing a crocheted kippah indicates a strong link to Eretz Israel.
Silk, velvet and suede kippot
These kippot also come in either a single solid color or with a design. They too can be composed of any color. Some modern Orthodox Jews wear these kippot, you can see them here.
Large black kippot
This is usually a large solid black kippah with no additions. It is sometimes associated with devoutly religious Jews.
Large Kaballah skullcaps
This large kippah is usually crocheted. It can appear in one solid colour or have a design on it. This skullcap is usually associated with the Hasidic and Kabalistic streams.
Sports lovers' kippah
I decided to add this category because there are many popular kippot whose designs are inspired by the world of sports. Check out some unique options I found.
